Girnar Tour Package from Pune – A Sacred Journey to Gujarat’s Spiritual Gems

Embarking on the Girnar Tour Package from Pune is more than just a pilgrimage – it is an exploration of faith, history, and natural beauty woven together in the sacred land of Gujarat. This tour allows you to discover the grandeur of Girnar Hills, the eternal devotion of Somnath Jyotirlinga, and the timeless charm of Dwarkadhish Temple, along with glimpses of Porbandar and Junagadh’s cultural heritage.

The Spiritual Significance of Girnar Hills

Rising dramatically above the plains of Junagadh, Girnar Hill is one of the oldest mountain ranges in India. It is revered by Hindus and Jains alike. The hill is home to more than 10,000 steps leading to a series of ancient temples, each carrying centuries of faith and devotion.

For Hindus, Girnar is associated with Amba Mata Temple, where devotees believe Goddess Amba blesses newlyweds with prosperity. For Jains, it is the sacred abode of Lord Neminath, the 22nd Tirthankara, who attained enlightenment here. The Girnar Ropeway, Asia’s longest ropeway, now makes this pilgrimage accessible, offering breathtaking aerial views of the valleys and forests below.

Somnath Jyotirlinga – The Eternal Shrine of Lord Shiva

No Girnar Tour Package from Pune is complete without visiting Somnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple’s history is both glorious and tragic, as it has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times by invaders. Despite this, the devotion around Somnath has never diminished, and it continues to shine as the “Shrine Eternal.”

Located on the Arabian Sea, Somnath offers not just spiritual peace but also a divine natural setting. The evening aarti, accompanied by the sound of crashing waves, creates a mystical atmosphere that leaves every devotee deeply moved.

Dwarka – The Kingdom of Lord Krishna

The holy city of Dwarka holds immense significance in Hindu mythology. It is believed to be the kingdom established by Lord Krishna after leaving Mathura. The majestic Dwarkadhish Temple, also known as Jagat Mandir, stands on the banks of the Gomti River and attracts thousands of devotees every day.

Nearby lies Bet Dwarka, an island said to be Krishna’s residence, where devotees relive tales of his life. Another sacred site is the Rukmini Devi Temple, dedicated to Krishna’s consort, and the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas believed to free devotees from fear and poison.

Porbandar – Birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi

During your journey, you also pass through Porbandar, famous as the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. The Kirti Mandir memorial, dedicated to him, offers insight into his early life and principles. Porbandar is also mentioned in ancient texts as the home of Sudama, the childhood friend of Lord Krishna.

Cultural Heritage of Junagadh

Junagadh is not only the gateway to Girnar Hills but also a city rich in heritage. The Uparkot Fort, dating back over 2,000 years, the ornate Mahabat Maqbara, and the ancient Ashokan Rock Edicts reflect its diverse cultural past. For history lovers, Junagadh offers a blend of Hindu, Jain, Islamic, and Buddhist influences, making it a fascinating destination.
