Spiritual Sojourn to Gangasagar – Overnight Journey to Odisha

Wake up early for a sacred day ahead. After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Gangasagar, located approximately 110 km from Kolkata. The journey includes a ferry ride over the Muriganga River followed by a short local transfer to reach Sagar Island.

Here, at the sacred confluence of the Ganga River and Bay of Bengal, take a holy dip – believed to cleanse the soul. Visit the Kapil Muni Ashram, an important religious site where Sage Kapil meditated.

By evening, return to Kolkata after dinner. Later, proceed to the railway station to board your overnight train to Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha.

Arrive at Bhubaneswar Railway Station in the morning, where our local representative will receive you. Begin your journey towards Puri, one of the four sacred Char Dham pilgrimage sites.

En route, you may stop at Dhauli Peace Pagoda, known for its Ashokan rock edicts, and Pipli Village, famous for its colorful appliqué handicrafts. Upon reaching Puri, check-in at your hotel and relax.

Later in the evening, visit the Jagannath Temple (only Hindus are allowed inside) and witness the grand aarti and rituals. Enjoy a serene evening at Golden Sea Beach nearby. Overnight stay in Puri.

After breakfast at the hotel, set out for a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Puri and nearby locations.

Start with a visit to the Gundicha Temple, famously associated with the Rath Yatra festival, followed by the Loknath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Continue to the sacred Swargadwar Beach, where devotees gather to offer prayers for departed souls.

Later, drive towards Satapada, located on the southern edge of Chilika Lake, Asia’s largest brackish water lagoon. Here, enjoy a scenic boat ride through the tranquil waters, and if you're lucky, spot the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins. The lake is also a haven for migratory birds (especially in winter), making it a paradise for nature lovers.

Return to Puri by evening. Spend some leisure time shopping for local handicrafts and textiles or enjoy a walk along the vibrant Puri Beach. Overnight stay at the hotel in Puri.

Day 5

Puri – Konark – Bhubaneswar
